type:"Elemental?"

Elemental? is an acorn creature type for Question Elementals. It leaves some doubt on if they are actually elementals but could also just be an aspect of their existence that warps their very race into a question.

History

Elemental? was introduced as a creature type in the December 2017 Unstable Gatherer errata for Question Elemental? from Unglued. The card had originally been printed in 1998 with the normal Elemental creature type. The creature type errata along with some additional text errata ensured that all text on the card remained a question.

No physical cards exist with the updated text, as the card was never reprinted.

In November 2023, Un-judge Mark Rosewater ruled that the creature type is still Elemental, and that it is affected by all things that affect Elementals.[1]

Trivia

  • Elemental? is currently the only creature type with a non-letter character in it (excluding dashes for two word types).
