Starfish is a creature type used for cards that depict invertebrate marine animals with radially arranged bodies, usually in the form of a star, with five or more rays or arms radiating from a central disk.

Description

Starfish have a body wall stiffened by calcareous pieces that may protrude as spines. They are the favorite prey of the Stinging Lionfish.

History

For a long time, the creature type had been used only once, for the card Spiny Starfish from Alliances (and the tokens it produces). Like its natural counterpart, it can regenerate. Much later, Journey into Nyx added the Sigiled Starfish. Modern Horizons 2 introduced the first non-blue Starfish in Sinister Starfish.

Foundations Jumpstart introduced the first Starfish-folk with Plagon, Lord of the Beach.
