Designer is a silver-bordered creature class used for cards that depict a person who plans the workings of something prior to it being made.

The only current card with the Designer-type is Richard Garfield, Ph.D. It represents Richard Garfield who created Magic: The Gathering.

History

Designer was introduced in Unglued and was re-printed again in Unsanctioned but has yet to appear on another card but its original.
