Mist is an obsolete creature type for cards that represented elemental mist.
Description
Mist debuted as a creature type in Homelands on Hungry Mist. With the release of Masters Edition on Magic Online the type was obsoleted and given errata to just be Elemental.
On Dominaria, Hungry Mist appears to be an elemental entity comprised of a green gaseous substance. It appears to be able to shift its form into any shape, including claws, a face, or tentacles. Dominaria also features various other mist creatures including the illusionary Krovikan Mist that can trap creatures who believe in its strength, various Mistform creatures including the sapient Mistform Ultimus, and the Mistfolk.
Older vampires on Innistrad can transform into a similar elemental form of Insidious Mist.
