Yeti is a predominant red and green creature type used for ape-like humanoids living in cold mountainous regions.

Description

Yetis are mainly connected to the Ice Age of Dominarian Terisiare but are also seen near the Temur Frontier on Tarkir and on the frigid mountains of Kaldheim. The scientific community generally regards the Yeti or Abominable Snowman as a legend, given the lack of conclusive evidence for his existence. All Yetis cost at least 4-mana and are 3/3s or larger, save the variable-power Sylvan Yeti.

The first creature to bear the type was Mountain Yeti in Legends. The first legendary Yeti was Isu the Abominable in Jumpstart 2022.

Storyline

Dominaria

Yetis, despite their size, evolved into the stealthiest creatures in the arctic north of Terisiare.[1] Their feet are built for silent movement, and they have keen eyes and thick fur. Their hide is colored to camouflage against their territory's rocks and snow. They are intelligent enough to use simple tools. Ohran yetis are known to use giant icicles from their cave homes as weapons.

Kaldheim

Not much is known about the yetis of Kaldheim. Their fur is prized for the coats of heroes, but many have fallen trying to retrieve it.[2]

Tarkir

Ferocious mountain-dwellers, Yetis were hunted by the Clans both before and after the changes to Tarkir's timeline.[3]
