Gemstone Caverns from Time Spiral refers to the starting player, which is simply the player which is first.
Bounty cards
Bounty cards from Outlaws of Thunder Junction Commander all state "As the starting player’s third turn begins, reveal the top bounty card."
Alchemy
Alchemy: The Brothers' War formally introduced a designed-for-digital, MTG Arena-specific mechanic that gives a beneficial effect to specific cards if you ae not the starting player. It was designed by Dave Humpherys.[1]
Because Alchemy is mostly played Best-of-One, the designers built upon the design space of Forsaken Crossroads from Alchemy: Innistrad to create cards that counteract the advantage that a starting player has by playing first.[1]
Forsaken Crossroads was "reprinted" in the paper Mystery Booster 2 set.
Aetherdrift introduced a similar mechanic for lands that was worded differently, giving a disadvantage to the starting player instead: Rising Chicane
