Armadillo is a creature type for cards that depict nocturnal insectivorous mammals with large claws and a body covered in bony plates that live in deserts.

Description

Armadillo first appeared as a type in Outlaws of Thunder Junction on Armored Armadillo and Spinewoods Armadillo. Other than existing on Thunder Junction, they have also been mentioned to be on Dominaria. There is also a spell on Dominaria known as Armadillo Cloak that forms an armadillo-like armor on someone's head and back.

• Hibernation (Urza's Saga) was the first card to depict an armadillo.
