type:"Citizen"

Citizen is a creature class depicting inhabitants of a city or town, usually in a non-fighting capacity.

History

Citizens were introduced in Fallen Empires, were only reused twice in Time Spiral, and for a long time only appeared on tokens.

The first card to use the type is Five Kids in a Trenchcoat, which was a test card from the Mystery Booster set. The first two black-bordered cards with the type were Prosperous Innkeeper and Skullport Merchant from Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms.[1]

Citizen tribal was used as the {G/W} limited draft archetype of Streets of New Capenna, though Citizens would also appear in other colors. After that, they regularly appeared on other planes as well.
