Goblin King is an obsolete creature type for cards that represented kings of the goblins.

Description

Goblin King was a short-lived two-word creature type that debuted in Limited Edition Alpha on the eponymous named Goblin King as one of the first lords. In this original printing, it gave all goblins +1/+1 but was not supposed to give it to itself as creature types during Alpha were the entire type line. This led to confusion though with it also having Goblin in the type line so in the Revised Edition it was given errata and the type was replaced by Lord.[1] Later with the Grand Creature Type Update, Lord was dropped as a type and it was given the Goblin type along with a wording change to only affect other goblins.

Storyline

Goblin Kings on Dominaria gain the position by assassinating the previous king, so it is said only the most foolish gain the position. Examples include Numsgil who killed Blog who killed Unkful who killed Viddle who killed and Loll who killed Alrok.[2]
