In 2025, it was again used on The Brewing Chef in reference to the Magic content creator Brewer's Kitchen. Mark Rosewater stated that its possible but not highly likely for it to be an eternal type, as he's not sure they make enough creatures that would use it, but also said it isn't out of the realm of possibility.[4][5]

It is a reference to Hawk, a character played by Jacob Bertrand in the spinoff series Cobra Kai from The Karate Kid franchise. Locus

Locus

Locus (cards) is a species representing a type of insect commonly known as locusts. It appears on the card Swarm of Locus (Mystery Booster). Prior to its introduction, Locus was only a land type; the test card pokes fun at prior confusion around it not being a creature type.

The Gatherer notes that its unlikely the Swarm of Locus pun will survive creative review. They'll assign a new creature type, as Locus can't be both a land type and a creature type. For now, the triggered ability of Swarm of Locus counts both the temporary-creature type Locus and the land type Locus. Other effects that refer to one won't affect the other.

Mammoth

Main article: Mammoth

Mammoth is a formerly eternal, currently test-card-only species of elephantine animals with coats of thick brown hair and long, deeply curved tusks.
