Information
Plane New Phyrexia
Part of The Tangle
Status Destroyed
Formerly part of Mirrodin

Tel-Jilad, also called the Tree of Tales, was the largest of the trees in the Tangle. Inscribed onto its metal surface was the history of Mirrodin, except near the bottom where all the writings had been etched out.[1] The trolls considered this their sacred home, and they lived within its hollow core. Elves also held the place in high esteem, and only elves that were a part of the Tel-Jilad Chosen could enter it. After the dawning of the fifth sun and the Vanishing of most of the plane's trolls, most Viridian elves rejected Tel-Jilad as the center of their culture.[2]

Tel-Jilad and the surrounding settlements were obliterated during the Phyrexian invasion, but one troll elder, Thrun, escaped with his people's knowledge intact.[3]
