Ingenuity counters are a type of counter introduced in Dominaria United. They act as a resource for an ability to cast artifacts without paying their mana cost.

Description

Ingenuity counters first appeared on Jhoira, Ageless Innovator in Dominaria United. Jhoira has an activated ability to add two Ingenuity counters to itself which then allows the free casting of an artifact from the player's hand with a mana value less than or equal to the number of cards on it. They represent the artificer's ability for innovating and creating the artifacts. Lady Octopus, Inspired Inventor also uses these counters which allows her to free cast artifacts. Lady Octopus gains these counters however by drawing cards.^[1]
