Currency counters are a type of counter introduced in Homelands.

Description

Currency counters first appeared on Trade Caravan in Homelands. They represent the currency the trade caravan takes in and act as an upkeep tracking counter, which builds up a resource for an activated ability. The Trade Caravan gains a currency counter on each upkeep and then has the activated ability to remove two of the counters in exchange for untapping a land during the opponent's upkeep step.

Trivia

• Trade Caravan has never been re-printed, including on Magic Online, and no other card uses currency counters. They have never been given a counter icon.
