Polyp counters are a type of counter introduced in Homelands that acted as a resource for creating +0/+1 counters.

Description

Polyp counters first appeared on Coral Reef in Homelands. It is an enchantment that enters the battlefield with 4 polyp counters on it. Additional counters are added to it via the sacrifice of islands. These counters then served as the resource for an activated ability that tapped a creature while adding an +0/+1 counter to a creature.

Trivia

• Corals are colonial organisms comprised of many individual Polyps.
• In Magic Online, the counter is colored green as its considered a positive effect and shares its icon with Fungus, Growth, Matrix, Petal, Pupa, Rust, Spore and Vitality counters.
