Gem counter are a type of counter introduced in Khans of Tarkir. It acts as a resource on an artifact for an activated ability.
Description
Gem counters first appeared on Briber's Purse in Khans of Tarkir. It enters the battlefield with a number of Gem counters equal to how much mana was paid to cast it. It then has an activated ability which can spend the Gem counters to prevent a creature from attacking or blocking for the rest of the turn.
Trivia
- In Magic Online, the counter is colored green as its considered a positive effect and shares its icon with Charge and Crystal counters.[1]
- Bribery counters have the same effect as the ability the Gem counters are spent on but as a more permanent effect.
