Experience counters

I shifted these from generic to mechanic as we've thus far only seen them as enablers for a cycle of commanders. I think "generic" should encompass only counters that either approach omnipresence (loyalty and +1/+1 counters, and then -1/-1 counters and charge counters by comparison to +1/+1) or are a fundamental piece of the game (poison counters always define a win condition, separate from any particular card or mechanic or interaction). Remove lesser used counter types?

Comment is welcome on Talk:Counter (marker)/Full List#A_page_for_every_counter? on whether we should or shouldn't make separate pages for every counter type. (My vote is no.)

If we do make/keep those pages, I still don't think this template should have the very-little-used ones (used on only 1-2 cards, or used in completely unrelated ways on a handful of cards). They can still be linked from the master list, but this template is nice because it highlights the more common ones.

Remove individual Keyword counter types?

I see no reason at all to list every keyword counter separately. They all work exactly the same way, and they just link to the shared Keyword counter article anyway. It takes up plenty of space and adds almost no informational or linking value. It would streamline the template if we just included the single Keyword counter article link in the bottom row, just like the Full List is down there already because it's unnecessary to list all of the dozens of counter types that have ever been used. Move Age counters to mechanic?

Age counters haven't been used since Coldsnap and are more intrinsically tied to Cumulative upkeep than anything else. I don't feel they belong in the Common counters section of the navbox any more but just want to check with people that it's ok to move them into the Mechanic counters section before doing so. -- RivalRowan (talk) 01:06, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
