Acquired taste counters are a type of counter introduced on a Test card at the 2025 Chicago Unknown Event.

Description

Acquired taste counters first appeared on the Moth Herb Elixir test card as part of an Unknown Event. The artifact has an activated ability to add an acquired taste counter to it. It has a second ability to sacrifice the elixir in order to draw 2 cards but also lose 4 life. The Acquired taste counter counteract this by giving 1 life per counter in the artifact. The counter represents taking extra time /turns to acquire taste of the elixir to not lose life.

Trivia

  • The elixir and counters are a reference to Malört which is known for its extremely bitter taste.[1]
