Theft counters are a type of counter introduced in Champions of Kamigawa. They are built upon damage to the enemy player and could be used for a tutor's ability.

Description

Theft counters first appeared on Night Dealings in Champions of Kamigawa. It would gain Theft counters for any amount of damage dealt by any source controlled by the player to the opponent. It then could remove Theft counters and tutor for a card with a mana value equivalent to the number of Theft counters being removed. Their creation from damaging the opponent player and getting a card from the library using them represent theft from the enemy to gain an advantage.
