Landmark counters are a type of counter introduced in Ixalan. They act as a tracker for the transform mechanic and the creation of Treasure tokens.

Description

Landmark counters first appeared on Treasure Map in Ixalan. It can Scry while adding a Landmark counter after each use of it. Once 3 counters are on the artifact, it then transforms and creates 3 Treasure tokens. The tokens can then either be sacrificed for colorless mana or card draw. The naming of the counters represents the finding of Landmarks with a treasure in them.

Trivia

In Magic Online, the counter is colored green as it's considered a positive effect and shares its icon with Filibuster, Level, Page, Plot, Quest, Story, and Study counters.^[1]
