Primeval counters are a unique counter type introduced in Mystery Booster 2 on the test card Muraganda Eldrazi.

Description

Primeval counters provide two intrinsic effects. First, a creature with a primeval counter loses all its abilities. Second, if a creature with a primeval counter would gain one or more abilities, it doesn't instead.

The effects are references to the plane of Muraganda and its unique association with vanilla creatures.
