Mire counters are a type of counter used by Cyclopean Tomb, first printed in Alpha. They turn lands into Swamps.
Description
The original Alpha printing of Cyclopean Tomb referred to the counters as "tokens", before being given errata and being re-printed as Mire counters. Cyclopean Tomb is an artifact with an activated ability to place the counter on a non-Swamp land. The land then becomes a Swamp. After the artifact leaves the battlefield, on each subsequent upkeep all of the counters are removed from 1 land, which removes the effect from that land.
Trivia
- A mire is a stretch of swampy or boggy ground.
- In Magic Online, the counter is colored green as its considered a positive effect and shares its icon with Collection, Fetch, Invitation, Oil, Slime and Soot counters.[1]
