Rope counters are a type of counter introduced in Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate. They act as a protection from a card's exile effect.

Description

Rope counters first appeared on the Fraying Line in Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate. A rope counter is added to a creature under the player's control when it enters the battlefield. During each player's upkeep, they can pay {2} mana to add a rope counter on a creature they control. If they do not then Fraying Line and each creature without a rope counter on it is exiled and all rope counters from all creatures. This represents the creatures with the counters are saved by being attached via the rope while those without rope fall and are destroyed when a player does not continue the line.
