Shred counters are a type of counter introduced in Torment. They have acted as upkeep tracking an increasing number of cards to mill each turn.
Description
Shred counters first appeared on Cephalid Vandal in Torment. It was a creature that would gain a Shred counter on each upkeep and also mill a number of cards equal to the number of Shred counters. This represented the creature shredding the player's cards from their library to the graveyard.
Trivia
- In Magic Online, Shred counters are colored green as it's considered a positive effect and share their icon with Blaze, Flame, Fury, Fuse, Spite and Strife counters.[1]
