Strife counters are a type of counter introduced in Commander 2011. They acted as an upkeep tracker for an increasing power bonus on all creatures each turn.
Description
Strife counters first appeared on Crescendo of War in Commander 2011. It would gain a Strife counter on each upkeep and then would grant all attacking and blocking creatures +1/+0 for each Strife counter on the enchantment. This represented the creatures gaining an advantage and being empowered the longer the conflict lasted.
Trivia
- In Magic Online, Strife counters are colored green as its considered a positive effect and share their icon with Blaze, Flame, Fury, Fuse, Shred and Spite counters.[1]
