Advisor is a creature class that first appeared in Portal Three Kingdoms. As part of the Grand Creature Type Update, Riven Turnbull and Tobias Andrion from Legends were retroactively made the oldest cards with the type.

Description

Advisors are tacticians, courtiers, ministers, teachers, and others known for their wisdom. Bureaucrats (once a separate class) are also ranked as advisors. Advisors often serve roles in government, where they can obtain significant personal power by manipulating those above and below them. Advisors span all five colors, though a majority are white. The subtype name often gives the impression that advisors play a more supporting role and are never in direct command, but this is untrue in the context of Magic. Teysa Karlov, Augustin IV, and Gaddock Teeg are all free agents and "advise" no one, despite all being classed as Advisors.

In the Grand Creature Type Update the subtypes Tactician (Seasoned Tactician) and Bureaucrat (Aysen Bureaucrats) were incorporated into the Advisor class.

Persistent Petitioners are "relentless" Advisors.
