Enchantress is an obsolete creature subtype, and a slang term used by Magic R&D to describe the connected ability.
The "Enchantress" ability (Whenever you play an enchantment, draw a card.) is primary in white, and secondary in green.[1] This ability started in Alpha on Verduran Enchantress. It stayed in green for many years, but has drifted toward white as part of R&D experimenting with white draw in narrow deck themes.[2]
Card list
Three cards with this subtype were printed:
Verduran Enchantress became a wizard in Sixth Edition, after which they were all changed with the Grand Creature Type Update into Human Druids.
Yavimaya Enchantress (Urza's Destiny) and the white Mesa Enchantress (Planar Chaos) were Druids from the start.
Related cards are Enchantress's Presence, Eidolon of Blossoms and Satyr Enchanter.[3]
