type:"Ox"

Ox is a seldom-used creature type used for bovine creatures. An ox, also known as a bullock in Australia, New Zealand, and India, is trained as a working animal. Oxen are commonly seen as castrated adult male cattle; castration makes the animals more tractable. Cows (adult females) or bulls (intact males) may also be used in some areas.

History

The first creatures to bear the type were Wild Ox and Ironhoof Ox in Portal Second Age (though the Raging Bull from Legends was retroactively unmanned to become an Ox as well). Like with the bull, the definition Ox doesn't fit well when wild animals are depicted. The creature type Cow from Unglued was not changed into Ox, because the set isn't part of the official rules.

Longhorn Firebeast and Arc Runner are Elemental Oxen. Bovine humanoids are known as Minotaurs.
