Badger is a seldom used green or red creature type for cards that depict lifelike short-legged, heavy-set digging omnivores. The first card to bear the type was the Giant Badger which came as a media insert with the book Shattered Chains.

The type was reused for Homelands which had Rysorian Badger, and for Mercadian Masques which had the red Rock Badger. Much later, the creature type reappeared in Born of the Gods (Charging Badger).
