Daleks are a warrior race made up of genetically engineered mutants created by Davros on the planet Skaro. Although the Daleks look entirely robotic, they are, in fact, cyborgs, with a living body encased in and supported by an armed and mobile outer shell. They are intensely xenophobic and bent on universal domination, the Daleks are hated and feared throughout time and space. Their goal is to eradicate all non-Dalek life; thus, they are the archenemies of The Doctor. They have battled the Doctor constantly since their creation and fought the Time Lords in the Last Great Time War. Though this ended in the near-total destruction of the Dalek race, they later rebuilt and restored their empire.
