Slumber counters are a type of counter introduced in Commander 2018. They represent a large creature being considered a land until they are removed.

Description

Slumber counters first appeared on the Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle in Commander 2018. It is a legendary kraken that enters the battlefield tapped with 5 slumber counters on it. As long as it has slumber counters on it, it is considered a land rather than a creature. One of the counters is removed each time the player casts a spell. The counters represent the creature sleeping and waking up as they are removed.
