Enlightened counters are a type of counter introduced in Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms. It adds the condition of the player can't lose the game and the opponent can’t win the game as long as it's in play.

Description

Enlightened counters first appeared on The Book of Exalted Deeds in Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms. The legendary artifact has an ability which exiles itself and places an Enlightened counter on an angel creature. Alongside this, it also creates Angel creature tokens each turn if the player gained more than 3 life. The Enlightened counter gives a creature the ability that the player can't lose the game and the opponent can’t win the game as long as it's in play.

Trivia

In Dungeons & Dragons, the Book of Exalted Deeds is considered the supreme written authority of goodness and virtue in all the multiverse which is why it creates Enlightened counters and is associated with Angels.
