The counters appeared once again in Innistrad: Crimson Vow on Foreboding Statue and Soulcipher Board. In both of these cases, they acted as a marker for the transform mechanic. For Foreboding Statue, it had an ability which added an omen counter to it when activated. It would then transform into Forsaken Thresher after having 3 or more of the counters on it. For Soulcipher Board, it enters play with 3 omen counters on it and one is removed for each card that enters the graveyard. It then transforms into Cipherbound Spirit when all the counters are removed.
