Typelink (also called creaturelink) is a keyword ability introduced in Unstable.[1] Damage dealt by a source with this ability causes that source's controller to create that many 1/1 tokens of the same type and color.

Description

Typelink name is a joke variant of Lifelink. It lets you create creature tokens instead of gain life.

Squirrellink

Squirrellink is a variant of Typelink in Unstable that lets you create green squirrel tokens.[2] According to Mark Rosewater, squirrellink can be done on an eternal card, but can’t be called squirrellink - that is be a lifelink variant - and work in the rules.[3]

Saprolink

In black border, Tana the Bloodsower from Commander 2016 makes a number of saprolings equal to damage she dealt to players, while the even older Pollenbright Wings is an Aura that can give the same ability to any creature.[4] However, the cards make no use of a keyword.

Rulings

  • The ability causes the creation of tokens whenever a permanent with typelink deals any damage, not just combat damage.
