The Future Sight mechanic is where a player can cast spells from the top of their library, based on the eponymous Future Sight.

Description

The original text is "Play with the top card of your library revealed. You may play lands and cast spells from the top of your library."[1][2] Later designs toned down the stream of card advantage, narrowing the type of cards playable and often excluding lands, giving the opponent some breathing room. Additionally, whether the controller looks at the top card or keeps it revealed varies; however, knowing the top card to be cast is the distinctive aspect of this mechanic.
