Commander Tajic, First Guildmage of the Boros Legion, is a stalwart and charismatic human soldier who embodies the unwavering strength and martial discipline of the Legion on Ravnica. Renowned for his ironclad loyalty to Warleader Aurelia and for commanding the powerful Warmind Initiative, Tajic stands at the front lines of every major conflict, fiercely defending the innocent and championing Boros ideals of swift justice and righteous order.
Description
Tajic is a brown-bearded, broad-chested man clad in massive-shouldered plate armor. He has olive skin and speaks with a thick accent.[1]
Biography
Tajic is the highest-ranking Boros guildmage, and one of the prime advisors of Warleader Aurelia. He's in charge of the Warmind Initiative, which is an effort to collaborate with the Izzet to increase Boros weapons and battle effectiveness.[2]
Tajic ran the Implicit Maze as representative of the Boros. He completed the maze, and was present at the Forum of Azor when the Supreme Verdict made Jace Beleren the new Living Guildpact.[1]
Later, he was asked by Teysa Karlov to help her remove the Obzedat from power.[3] Their plot was foiled, and Tajic was taken prisoner by the Orzhov.[4] Though Aurelia quickly managed to secure his release, the experience soured Tajic's relationship with Teysa significantly.[5]
As second in command, Tajic later opposed Aurelia's plan to unite with the other guilds in their fight against the forces of Bolas.[6] Tajic believed that the Boros could trust only the Boros.[7] He was convinced that any effort at peace among the guilds was doomed to failure without the Guildpact. The Boros, he argued, would be better off spending their energy to make themselves stronger so they could uphold the fragile balance that existed then, and protect the innocent when the balance tilted. Aurelia felt that his negative attitude ran the risk of poisoning the hearts of the other Boros and undermining any peace efforts.
Tajic survived both the War of the Spark and the New Phyrexian Invasion, as he was seen in action during the Murders at Karlov Manor[8]
