Zameck is the current Simic Guildhall on Ravnica, constructed within Zonot Seven after the destruction of their previous headquarters, Novijen. It serves as the central hub for Simic speakers, researchers, and emissaries who shape the future of the Combine's biological experiments and political strategies.

Description

Zameck is not a typical guildhall marked by towering spires or sprawling marble halls; instead, it is a practical, living structure hidden beneath the streets inside Zonot Seven — one of the massive sinkholes that form the Simic Combine's unique habitats. Unlike the other zonots that lie scattered through the Rubblebelt and outlying regions, Zonot Seven is the only one located fully within Ravnica City proper, nestled in Precinct Five of the Tenth District.[1][2]

This enormous, water-filled sinkhole draws its constant flow from a vast subterranean ocean deep beneath the city's foundations. Within the zonot, the Simic have shaped a series of interlinked canals and living chambers, forming a self-sustaining ecosystem that buzzes with activity day and night. In stark contrast to the relatively quiet precincts above, Zonot Seven hums with researchers tending bioengineered flora, hybridized beasts drifting through the waters, and Simic speakers conferring about the guild's ever-evolving plans.[2]

Near the upper portion of the zonot, just beneath the street level, lies the main chamber of Zameck — a broad space cleared of centuries-old rubble to create an assembly hall where the guild's leaders and speakers convene. It doubles as the Combine's public face: a place where rare visitors from above the surface might be invited to meet with the Prime Speaker or other high-ranking Simic emissaries. While Simic researchers occasionally extend invitations to trusted land-dwelling colleagues, such visits remain rare and highly regulated to protect the secrecy and delicate balance of the Combine's work.[2]

The chamber's ceiling is fitted with carefully grown skylights made of translucent, plax-covered membranes that filter sunlight into shimmering underwater hues, casting the whole space in a tranquil, submerged glow. Kelp cords and massive strands of cultivated seaweed reinforce the walls, forming an organic lattice that shifts slightly with the flow of water currents. Algae bloom in the corners, nurturing smaller organisms and contributing to the zonot's closed ecosystem — a testament to the Simic vision of self-sufficient, living architecture.[2]

From Zameck, a network of canals branches outward, winding deeper into Precinct Five and connecting to Precinct Six. These hidden waterways allow the Simic to move resources, specimens, and agents swiftly and discreetly through their domain beneath the city, maintaining the flow of life and knowledge that sustains both Zameck and the wider Combine.[2]
