Pierakor az Vinrenn D'rav, better known as Feather, is a Boros Firemane angel, who spent much time as Agrus Kos's partner.[1]

Description

Feather is very tall, a full foot taller than most human men, and powerfully built. She has red hair and golden wings, and her eyes glow with a mild golden light. Her voice sounds like a small choir, and she exudes an aura of honesty and trust, making people in her immediate presence more relaxed and trustful. Like other Ravnican angels, she hears her name when it is spoken, no matter how far away, an effect called "prayer".[1][2]

History

Before the original Guildpact, Feather was one of the few angels who attempted to find the planeswalkers who had stopped visiting Ravnica.[2] She assisted in building the first Parhelion and traveled to the end of Ravnica’s known universe, only to discover that at a certain distance, existence as they knew it simply stopped.

Wojek

Feather was placed in the League of Wojek to work off a holy debt,[1] and her wings were bound until her service with the Wojeks was considered appeased. After the events of the Decamillennial, Kos freed her wings and she vanished, looking for the missing Parhelion.

Guildmaster

She reappeared when she sensed Kos's death. She was chosen as one of his pallbearers but vanished again shortly after. Her whereabouts during all those years were finally explained during the Dissension, when she came to submit herself for arrest. She revealed that she was the last surviving of the Boros angels, the rest having been killed by Szadek's ghost army.[2] After the dissolution of the guildpact, she was named as the Boros Guildmaster.

Even before becoming the Guildmaster, she possessed a small personal fortune due to Pivlic's excellent management of her salary as a wojek (she never spent it, since she didn't have expenses).

Deposed

Her tenure as Guildmaster was challenged by Aurelia (one of her creations), who believed that no angel who had been disgraced had a right to rule. She garnered much support in her crusade, and Feather was imprisoned until her final fate could be decided. Feather was freed, however, during a secretive raid performed by Krenko.[3]

War of the Spark

During the events of War of the Spark, she was allowed to fly alongside Aurelia's Firemanes.[4]

Phyrexian Invasion and Aftermath

Despite how bravely she fought during the War of the Spark and the New Phyrexian Invasion, Feather continues to be treated with mistrust and prejudice by the other Boros angels, especially Aurelia.[5] Most recently, she's been put on permanent assignment as an ongoing liaison between the Boros and the Ravnican Agency of Magicological Investigations — a position that is more administrative drudge work than anything that should rightly belong to an angel, and a clear sign of her continued disgrace. However, Feather chooses to see it not as the punishment it's meant to be, but as a task as worthy of diligence and attention as any other angelic endeavor.

Trivia

Feather's name, Pierakor, was inspired by the Slovak word "pierko", meaning "feather".
