Tanek is a rogue and petty thief on Ravnica.
History
Tanek was part of a small band of rogues, including Erika, Migen, and Ivo. They would pool their resources by working separately, stealing, picking pockets, arranging small-time deals, and then sharing the loot between them in the evenings.
One day, Tanek observed Ambroz Benakov's men harassing his favorite chicken vendor Busa. Benakov was a corrupt Orzhov official who would extort others for the pretense of protecting them with his thugs. Tanek followed Benakov, and at an opportune moment swiped his bag of gold and ran. He was followed by a Boros legionnaire named Radomir, however, who caught up to him and threw him to the ground. Tanek had to give back the bag of gold, but Radomir sensed that the thief's heart was in the right place, and gave him two of the gold as compensation, as well as the chance to work for him as a spy in the future. After that day, Tanek withdrew from his thieves' circle and planned a new future as a Boros informer.
