Tom LaPille is a former Magic designer and core developer and employee of Wizards of the Coast.
History
LaPille used to be a columnist for magicthegathering.com (he wrote Latest Developments from January 2009 until December 2011).[1] Tom played on four Pro Tours before he joined Wizards in 2008. One of his responsibilities was constructing Magic's line of introductory products. Tom was the one who first pitched the idea of using double-faced cards for Innistrad.[2] Tom began working at Wizards in June 2008 as an intern and was then hired full-time. In 2011, he made the temporary move over to Dungeons & Dragons R&D [3][4] and in 2014, he moved to Magic Online.[5] In the December of that year, he left the company.
