Sarusin is a seasoned Dimir agent and mage whose memories were replaced by those of an excisor.

History

Sarusin awoke in an underground chamber, a place he'd never seen before, or so he thought. In fact, the vampire Mirko Vosk had excised a piece of his memories, the location of that particular chamber. Mirko told Sarusin he was there to teach the agent this particular method of acquiring memories from others.

Gripping Sarusin's head in his hands, Mirko poured the excisor's memories into him. Sarusin learned years of training, secret assignments, victims, and techniques in a matter of moments. Along with them came a mind obsessed with power and control. An ambitious mind far beyond what Sarusin had ever dared to glimpse. Sarusin lost track of which were his memories and which were the memories of the other.

Later, Sarusin used his new technique, pulling the last few inches of the memory strand from a victim's head. He teased the memory from its domain much like an expert gardener would extract the roots of a prized plant from its earthly home. He sealed the spell but suddenly, the "other" entity was slipping into his memories again, and this time he could not hold it back. He could feel the dam of his mind weakening under the pressure of a new, more powerful identity forming in his mind. Its new body would serve it well
