New Prahv is the guild current hall for the Azorius Senate on Ravnica, named for the former guildhall which was destroyed in the Parhelion crash. The ruined Old Prahv has been converted into a nature preserve.

Description

New Prahv is a massive building with three giant towers topped with spires at each corner, with waterfalls running down their sides. The Hallowed Fountain is located in the triangular plaza between the three towers.

The original Prahv, later known as Old Prahv, was a large castle-like structure of white marble. It had six soaring towers and two large blue domes at the end of the grand hall. The domes covered the senate courts.[1]

History

Old Prahv

The original Prahv stood for millennia, serving as the venue for many renowned hearings, trials, and judgments. It was within these halls that the angel Feather revealed to the guild leaders the existence of the Ghost Quarter of Agyrem, and recounted the fate of the airborne angel-fortress, the Parhelion, which had come to rest there. She also issued a grave warning about the ongoing threat posed by the Dimir vampire lord, Szadek. Shortly after this pivotal trial, Prahv was struck by none other than the Parhelion itself, causing catastrophic damage. Three of its towers collapsed, and its majestic blue dome shattered—though the central hall and three remaining towers endured.[1][2] The ruined site of Prahv was eventually abandoned to nature and now serves as a wilderness preserve.[3]

For years, the Azorius Senate was mired in bureaucratic paralysis, endlessly debating the where, when, and how of rebuilding their guildhall. It was only after Isperia assumed leadership of the guild that reconstruction efforts finally began.

New Prahv

New Prahv, at the other end of the same district, consists of three towering, three-sided columns that form a circular courtyard. The towers of New Prahv are the tallest structures on the ground in all of Ravnica. The three towers literalize the guild's structure: each houses the operations of one of the three Columns (Sova, Jelenn, and Lyev).[2] The three titanic towers are flanked by the domes and spires of lesser buildings. The borders of the enormous compound are marked by tall, spiked fences.[4]

The towers of New Prahv also serve as an aesthetic representation of the guild's belief. It is an austere, immaculate structure, elegant but unadorned. White marble, alabaster, and steel predominate. Broad, curving hallways lead to large chambers, each of which has an array of subchambers and offices around it. Because the halls and chambers don't have many distinguishing features, visitors to New Prahv inevitably become lost without an escort.[2]

The guildmaster's office is located in the highest spire of the complex.[5]

New Prahv was the location of the guild summit, that ended with the murder of the Azorius guildmaster Isperia.[6] During the War of the Spark, New Prahv housed the Immortal Sun,[7] while the Interplanar Beacon was built within a nearby tower that had served as an Azorius outpost and skyship dock.[8]

The guild hall was severely damaged during New Phyrexia's Invasion of the Multiverse after Vraska directed Realmbreaker to attack the Azorius Senate and the jail in which she had once been imprisoned. The status of the Immortal Sun is unknown.[9]
