Sokenzan (soh-KEHN-zahn;[1] Japanese:
Description
The Sokenzan mountain range is the largest in Kamigawa, and it lies south of Eiganjo. Cunning Akki live here, among bandits, yamabushi shamans, as well as ronin (masterless samurai), which were ruled by the bandit king Godo during the Kami War. Deep in the Sokenzan mountain range lay the Tendo Peaks, the steepest mountains in Kamigawa. The Heart of Frost, one of the Tendo Peaks, was haunted for some time by a Yuki-onna, while Untaidake, the tallest mountain on the plane, was guarded by the yamabushi Ryusaki Kumano. The Sokenzan is guarded by the dragon kami Ryusei, the Falling Star.
Shinka, the Bloodsoaked Keep, is located within the range. There Hidetsugu and his o-bakemono practised the summoning of oni. The foothills of the Sokenzan border Takenuma to the northwest, and Towabara and Jukai to the north.[3]
History
The Sokenzan became the center for the Asari Uprisers, a rebel organization desiring freedom from Imperial tyranny.[4]
