The Okiba Recokers (o-KEE-ba) are a gang of spies, ninjas, rogues and bikers, part of the larger Reckoners affiliation on Kamigawa.[1] The Okiba are exclusively nezumi, currently led by Greasefang.

History

The Okiba have their roots long ago, before the Kami War. [2] Ink-Eyes eventually became part of this gang, although she was ostracized by them at a young age. [3] At this point, the gang was known for its abundance of shinobi and ninja, and were a rival gang to the Hyozan Reckoners.[4]

Betweeen the time period of the Kami War, and the rise of the Neon Dynasty, the Okiba and Hyozan together with the Dokuchi and Mukotai Reckoners merged into a larger affilitation of Reckoners. The Reckoners form a sprawling, loosely connected series of criminal gangs. Alliances, betrayals, and turf wars between gangs are common, but those same gangs will unite against outsiders. Tests of loyalty are demanded on a regular basis. Every member of the Reckoners is inked with magical tattoos that ensure loyalty and prevent betrayal. As a recruit climbs the ranks, they receive additional tattoos, each representing a new binding or connection forged within the gang. Bosses are often tattooed from neck to toe.

Now, the Okiba are led by the cunning, resourceful Greasefang, as a gang that rides the streets of the Towashi Undercity. Under her command, the Okiba Reckoners have grown in number and influence and are rapidly making a name for themselves as the top gang in Towashi's undercity. Any nezumi who joins is her family, and she doesn't hesitate to retaliate against any perceived slight against her kin. Her message is clear: mess with one of us, you mess with us all.[5]
