The Heart of Frost is a mountain in the Tendo Peaks of the Sokenzan range, on the plane of Kamigawa.[1]
Description
During the Kami War, the Heart of Frost was home to a Yuki-Onna, a dangerous being who lived in the freezing temperatures of this cold mountain slope. Toshiro Umezawa used kanji written in his blood to summon Yuki-Onna in an attempt to stop Kiku, Marrow-Gnawer and a gang of Uramon's hatchet men from catching him.[1]
History
During the Kami War, Toshiro Umezawa traveled to the Heart of Frost seeking the Yuki-Onna. He was trailed by Boss Uramon's hatchet thugs and nezumi, led by Kiku and Marrow-Gnawer. Toshi inscribed the Yuki-Onna's kanji on rocks and trees near the summit, triggering the spirit to appear near them when they were triggered. In this way, she killed Uchida and half of the party even before they reached the summit, where Toshi was waiting for them. At the summit, Toshi had placed the spirit's kanji in a circle in the snow, and once the circle was broken, the Yuki-Onna was summoned directly to the hunting party. She swerved around the clearing, killing each nezumi and human until only Toshi, Kiku, and Marrow-Gnawer were left. Seeing no other choice but to survive, Kiku and Marrow-Gnawer allowed Toshi to inscribe them with the Hyozan Reckoners kanji, blasting the Yuki-Onna back into the spirit realm and at the same time forming blood-bonds between them.[1]
