Kofu is a medium-sized merchant town on the Towabara Plains on plane of Kamigawa.
History
Even during the Kami War, Kofu was a bustling place, with wagons filled with polished lumber rolling through, street vendors loudly announcing the presence of freshly cooked chicken kabobs, and women in flowing gowns chattering and laughing in the streets, barely paying any attention to Eight-and-a-Half-Tails when he arrived with a freshly orphaned human girl. On the side of town that lay in the direction of Eiganjo lay a guard station manned by soldiers in the Daimyo's army. Such outposts were supposed to maintain order in Konda’s lands, as well as serve as first defense and warning should kami attack. More often than not, though, the samurai were much more successful at the second than the first. Eight-and-a-Half-Tails made certain the orphan was put into the care of the samurai at the outpost who would bring her to the orphanage before he left Kofu for Sokenzan.[1]
