Description
Arima is a skilled and high-profile scientist in Otawara, known for their remarkable achievements despite their outsider status. With vivid black eyes and brown skin, they exude a wry charm and approachability, underscored by their vigilance in the face of frequent death threats. Arima's work and success have earned them both admiration and enmity, leading to an environment where their security is often compromised. Their interactions with Kotori reveal a deep-seated concern for her safety and a wariness of the shadowy aspects surrounding Katsumasa's research.[1]
History
Arima belonged to the Order of Jukai until they became the lead inventor of the Saiba Futurists. After their promotion at age 23, other Futurists resented them as an outsider who rose too quickly through their ranks. After leaving Otawara for a conference in Eiganjo, Arima was directly impacted by the unfolding events involving Kotori and the mech Shorikai. Their concern for Kotori's safety and skepticism about Katsumasa’s ethics was well-founded, as Kotori, under Shorikai’s control, committed a violent act that resulted in the death of several individuals, including members of the Order of Jukai and her team. Arima’s warnings and the tensions surrounding Katsumasa’s secretive research proved prescient, highlighting the dangers Kotori faced. Arima’s absence from this particular incident meant they missed the chaos that ensued but their cautious advice and concern underscored the perilous situation that Kotori found herself in.[1]
