Bre

Bre Stoutarm

Bre of Clan Stoutarm is a giant warrior and daughter of Brion Stoutarm.[1] A milder giant, she is a herder at heart and slow to anger.[2] She is often away from her lair, and her life is spent in the pastures, gathering feed for her sheep and taking long naps. She is at peace with every species of Lorwyn—save the elves, who are to blame for her father's death and much of the turmoil on the plane. Whenever she encounters an elf, she's quick to distance herself from them, hurling them far away.

Ferrafor

Ferrafor

Ferrafor is the last known yew on Lorwyn-Shadowmoor.[3] Originally a cutting from the sapling of Colfenor, the cutting was saved by Rhys and grafted to the elder treefolk Sigric.[1][4] Prophesying the yew's return, Sigric traveled with fellow treefolk Morecote and Erewaker to a clearing of dawnglove, though all three died along the journey, harried by the Deffroad clique's attempt to resurrect Oona. Ferrafor's Rising was completed, but she was left cruel and without any treefolk guidance. She wanders Shadowmoor casting hexes and spreading chaos, though in Lorwyn she would be cunning, kind, and benevolent, spreading the gift of life.

Mass of Mysteries

Mass of Mysteries

The Mass of Mysteries is a greater elemental born after the death of Oona, queen of the fae. It represents the potential of the unknown, free from the control Oona levied against the plane. As it wanders Lorwyn-Shadowmoor, it transforms the certain into the uncertain. With each step, fallow fields grow never-before-seen plants, raging rivers fill with fish and run dry, and people who were happy and settled leave home to find something more.[1]

Represented in:

Moira

Moira (right) on Squen's shoulder

Moira is a sentient green slug on Lorwyn. She is a friend of the boggart Squen and rides on his shoulder.[5] Moira's animatronic muppet was created by Jim Henson's Creature Shop and was voiced by Donna Kimball.[6]

Ool

Auntie Ool

Auntie Ool is an infamous boggart spoken of only in whispers. She is the terror of Shadowmoor, known to dish out potent curses for the smallest of transgressions.[1] Her wickedly talented witchcraft allows her to conjure blight wherever she pleases and even stabilize wild magic into usable forms, and she prides herself on the creativity of her curses.[7] Her home is a twig hut that stands on giant frog-like legs, which leaps across the wilds in precise, silent bounds. Her hut may be a reference to Baba Yaga's chicken-legged hut.

Represented in:

Oura

Queen Oura is a faerie noble. After Oona's defeat, while most Lorwyn faeries chose to follow Maralen, many chose to worship Oura.[8] A bold faerie from Glen Priseil, Oura proclaimed herself queen by mimicking Oona and gaining power through the collective belief of the fae.[3] Her strongest supporters, a band of about 50 faeries, work to gain more allies while they undermine Maralen. Maralen has not seen fit to eliminate the upstart, lest she become more like Oona herself.

Providence of Night

The Providence of Night

The Providence of Night is a spirit avatar on Shadowmoor. It may be the subject of The Listener's Lament, a poem quoted in its flavor text. It shares creature types and a five hybrid mana casting cost with the demigods of Shadowmoor, which are also referenced in The Listener's Lament, possibly implying that the Providence is itself a demigod or similar being.

Represented in:

Snake

Snake

Snake is a sentient blue snake on Shadowmoor with a white underbelly. He has an antagonistic relationship with the boggart Cragg.[5] Snake's muppet was created by Jim Henson's Creature Shop and was voiced by Drew Massey.[6]

Squen & Cragg

The Squen & Cragg Show

Squen and Cragg are a single or pair of Lorwyn-Shadowmoor boggarts with bat-like ears and noses and two horns.[5] They were the protagonists of the Lorwyn-Shadowmoor trailer, and hosted the podcast The Squen & Cragg Show as part of the set's marketing. Their fans are referred to as "Squenthusiasts" and "Craggros", respectively.[9] Although the two have been depicted together, it is implied in the Lorwyn Eclipsed set trailer that Squen and Cragg are the Lorwyn and Shadowmoor versions of each other, respectively.

Squen lives in a large tree stump and owns and plays a pair of maracas. He is friends with the slug Moira, whom he places on his shoulder as they travel. Cragg's left horn is broken. His regular routine includes raiding, kidnapping kithkin children, and removing the hearts of venomous pigeons. He owns and can play a guitar. Both boggarts wonder what life on the other side of the plane is like.[5]

Squen and Cragg's muppets were created by Jim Henson's Creature Shop and concepted by David Meng.[6][10] Squen was voiced by Ben Schrader and puppeteered by Ben (main), Raymond Carr (arms), and Drew Massey (facial features). Cragg was voiced by Kevin Clash and puppeteered by Kevin (main), Grant Baciocco (arms), and Donna Kimball (facial features).
