The Porringer Valley was a heavily wooded vale in Lorwyn.
Description
Porringer was a lowland region through which the Wanderwine flows, not far from the western borders of the Blessed Nation. The western edge of the valley abutted Dauba Ravine, which separated it from the foothills of the mountains.[1]
Porringer used to be home to a large number of ash treefolk shamans and warriors who tolerated the presence of members of other tribes as long as they did not harm the trees.[2] Many boggarts and outcast elves resided in the valley as well, taking advantage of the ashes' protection. The boggarts were known to sneak amid groves of treefolk to make trouble and steal "souvenirs" of their trespasses.[3] They held their Feast of Footbottom festival within Porringer.
History
Porringer was the site of a devastating battle between elves of the Gilt Leaf tribe under the command of Nath and a group of boggarts attending the Footbottom festival. What began as a massacre by the elves quickly turned into an even greater bloodbath as the boggarts began to change under the influence of the impending Great Aurora, becoming feral monsters. It ended with a powerful spell cast by the elf Rhys that nearly destroyed both fighting forces.
Porring Basin
What was once Porringer Valley has flooded, causing an influx of merrow who have set about repurposing the valley into a nursery.[4]
