A doun is a kithkin village or town found in Shadowmoor. The Lorwyn counterpart of a doun is called a clachan.
Etymology
Doun is Scots for "down", as in a hill.
Known douns
- Ballygol - population wiped out by the elves of the Dusklight Safehold.[1]
- Ballynock - A haven for hunters and trappers.[2]
- Trapper's Square[2]
- Barrenton - Known for their Barrenton Cragtreads and Barrenton Medic. Barrenton's guard-captain was named Bowen.[1] Its clachan equivalent is Burrenton.
- Bristlebane - Home to the Hound of Bristlebane and the most violent douns in Shadowmoor. Even among kithkin, Bristlebane is considered dangerous.[3]
- Dundaeron - Counterpart to Dundoolin.[2]
- Greymeadow - ringed by three layers of walls and gates, home of Wyb Cobbik, Betrys Cobbik, Gwyb Cobbik, Kypper Cobbik, Eswyn, Dagub, Cefin, Potrig, and the Kennies.[1]
- Kinscaer- home of Donal Alloway.[1] Its clachan equivalent is Kinsbaile.
- Mistmeadow - home of Jack Chierdagh and Keely Welk, ruled by Cenn Molla Welk.[1] Its clachan equivalent is Goldmeadow.
- Thistledown - its clachan equivalent is Cloverdell.
