The Mornsong was a tribe of Lorwyn elves, they lived in the Arbor Morning.[1]

Description

Members of the Mornsong tribe were unique among Lorwyn's elves in that they were less focused on physical beauty, instead honoring the skills of singing. Instead of the gold and green of the Gilt-Leaf tribe, the Mornsong wore purple and silver.

Smaller and somewhat diminished compared to the Gilt-Leaf that had unquestioned rule over Lorwyn, the Mornsong tribe aimed to assimilate into the greater tribe through a strategic marriage of their ruling perfects. This alliance was likely to lead to the end of the Mornsong as a distinct tribe, and some Mornsong elves harbored fears that the two tribes' differing interpretations of beauty would lead to incompatibility. The tribe believed that, if successful, the union would preserve the Mornsong ways, and their songs would echo through the woodlands for generations to come.[1]

Peradala, a perfect of Mornsong, was the greatest singer of Lorwyn. She was always followed by a chorus of elves, prepared at all times to accompany her voice if she ever burst into song; even in her sleep they attended her, rotating in shifts like a town guard. Peradala was betrothed to Eidren of Lys Alana, but enchanted vines and faeries slaughtered her wedding convoy as Oona furthered her agenda.[1]

Peradala's handmaiden, Maralen, purportedly survived the massacre but was in fact a duplicate created by Oona. This version of Maralen, herself an aspect of Oona, would eventually come to overthrow her creator and become the new queen of the fae.[2]
